Hail! Hail! Rock & Roll – RIP Chuck Berry

Charles Edward Anderson Berry was born in St. Louis in 1926 or as we know him Chuck Berry.  An innovator and truly one of the fathers of rock and roll.  He influenced countless musicians from the Beatles to The Rolling Stones to Bruce Springsteen.  Chuck Berry was 90.

Chuck served two prison terms, had multiple hits during the 50’s & 60’s with a No. 1 in 1972.  His documentary in 1987 showed all sides of Berry including the “hard to get along with” side.  He even punched Keith Richards in the face.  He was and is a true Rock & Roll and will be remembered for decades to come.

On a personal note, as a teenager learning those first licks in Johnny B. Goode gave me the fire to play rock and roll and led me on this crazy path as a musician .
