The Revival’s New series kicked off Thursday (1-18-18) and it did not disappoint. Kristopher Bentley and Chelsea Nolan started off the night off with a great set followed by Chelsea doing performing solo. Next for everyone’s entertainment was If Birds Could Fly. This band calls Appalachia, VA home and now sporting a bassist’s and Matt Mullins on guitar IBCF performed an awesome set of original tunes with some country classics sprinkled in just perfectly. Brittany IBCF’s lead vocalist and cajon player carries the set with her unique and powerful voice making for a fun and entertaining second band of the night. Following If Birds Could Fly, Trippin Roots took the stage with an awesome rootsy rock set taking the evening to a Crescendo of great lyrics, harmonies & a top notch rhythm section. With a new cd just released & some great shows already under there belts this year Trippin’ Roots is poised to make some serious waves in 2018. Tonight this usually four piece band had Tony Mullins sitting in on keys. Tony, keyboardist for The Revival among others also closed the evening with a poignant acoustic/electric set of songs with Kristopher making the first in the Star City Circus Series a perfect beginning to what seems like will be a great time at the Burl.
