The Slone Family of Hindman, Kentucky is a family group in the tradition of Bluegrass and Country family groups such as the Carters and Stonemans. Ray Slone, the father, plays mandolin; Carolyn, the oldest daughter, plays banjo; and Marcia, the younger daughter, plays guitar. They all sing with the feel of the music of their heritage.
Kenny Thacker, Ray Slone’s nephew, plays a solid bass.
On this album Doug Hutchens ably assists on guitar. Doug plays banjo for The Wilderness Road Show at Berea, Kentucky.
